Iloilo, Cebu, and Davao audiences embrace a cross-generational lineup of OPM favorites and contemporary artists
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino music fans across the Visayas and Mindanao recently came together for a concert experience that brought different generations, musical styles, and communities under one roof—or, in this case, one packed concert ground.
Tanduay First Five wrapped up its multi-city concert run with strong crowds in Iloilo, Cebu, and Davao, pairing established OPM bands with some of the country’s most popular contemporary artists.
The concept was simple but effective: put different generations of Filipino music on the same stage and let the audience experience the connections that emerge when generations share the same songs, performances, and memories.
“This year’s Tanduay First Five is different in many ways from the previous ones we staged as we brought together new gen and old school bands and artists who collaborated live onstage. It attracted audiences of all ages, from millennials to Gen Z, and turned out to be one of the most memorable concert tours in the Visayas and Mindanao,” said Edzel Ty, Digital Brand Manager of Tanduay.
Three Cities, Thousands of Concertgoers
The regional tour made stops at the Grand Capital Mall Open Grounds in Iloilo, SM Seaside City Cebu Concert Grounds, and Davao Crocodile Park & Zoo.
Across all three locations, audiences turned out in force, underscoring the continuing demand for major entertainment events in regional Philippine markets.
For Tanduay, taking First Five beyond Metro Manila also created an opportunity to engage consumers where they live, work, and build their communities.
The result was a series of events where live music became the common denominator among audiences with different tastes and backgrounds.
When OPM Generations Share the Stage
The Davao leg offered one of the clearest examples of the cross-generational approach behind Tanduay First Five.
Hip-hop performers Skusta Clee and Flow G joined forces with veteran rock acts Kamikazee and Parokya ni Edgar, creating a lineup that crossed musical eras and genres.
Elsewhere on the tour, Zack Tabudlo and December Avenue delivered performances that had audiences singing along to familiar hits.
The combination of artists helped make the concerts accessible to both younger listeners discovering today’s music and longtime OPM fans with decades of musical memories.
Rather than separating audiences according to genre or generation, Tanduay First Five brought them together through the shared experience of live Filipino music.
Why Music Became the Centerpiece
Music has long been part of how Filipinos celebrate milestones, friendships, relationships, and community.
Tanduay First Five tapped into that cultural connection by positioning the concerts as spaces where audiences could enjoy performances while creating memories with friends and fellow fans.
“Tanduay First Five reflects Tanduay’s commitment to being part of moments that foster creativity, self-expression, and lasting memories. We support spaces where people could connect and celebrate shared experiences,” Ty said.
The approach also allowed the brand to connect with consumers through an experience rather than simply through conventional advertising.
For a nationwide brand with more than a century of history, the concerts provided another way of connecting its heritage with contemporary Filipino culture.
Fans Are Already Asking for Another Tour
One of the clearest indicators of the concerts’ impact came after the events, when fans took to social media to ask about the next edition.
“When and where is the next TFF concert? This is the most common feedback we received on our social media pages along with some people requesting to have the Tanduay First Five in their own cities,” Ty shared.
The requests indicate that the appetite for regional music experiences remains strong, particularly for events that combine established OPM acts with newer performers.
While Tanduay First Five was initially planned as a one-time concert concept, Ty hinted that another edition could potentially be staged the following year.
That possibility could open the door for more cities and audiences to experience the cross-generational music format.
A Concert as a Thank-You
Behind the entertainment and performances, Tanduay First Five was also conceived as a gesture of appreciation toward the brand’s long-standing customer base.
Tanduay has been part of the Philippine spirits industry for more than a century, and its connection with Filipino consumers has been built over generations.
“Tanduay wouldn’t be where it is at today without the support of all our loyal customers. We have been in the industry for more than one hundred years and continue to craft spirits that best represent our country and our heritage because of you,” Ty said.
That sentiment gives the concert series an additional dimension: an experiential expression of the relationship between a long-established Filipino brand and the consumers who have supported it over the years.
What’s Next for Tanduay?
While another Tanduay First Five tour has yet to be formally announced, the strong response from audiences in Iloilo, Cebu, and Davao provides plenty of reason for fans to keep watching the brand’s official channels.
For 2026, Tanduay is also expected to introduce its next Tanduay Calendar Girl toward the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the latest Tanduay First Five run has demonstrated the power of live music to connect different generations—and the continuing strength of OPM as a cultural force across the Philippines.
From rock classics to contemporary hits and hip-hop anthems, the message from the concert crowds was clear: Filipino music continues to bring people together.
